Settings problem?

I was seeing what my graphics card could handle yesturday. I selected something that I needed shader support to use. Nothing happened. When I went to start Flight Sim today, it came up with a message saying that I did not have shader support and that FSX would close.

Is there any way to change or reset FSX settings, short of reinstallation, outside of the game itself?

Open the FSX.cfg and DELETE ONLY the lines that relate to your graphics card - the heading and the few lines immediately below.

Relaunch the sim, and you can reset your settings.

It's an old one. It doesn't support shaders... which is the problem.

I was going to get a new card soon anyway. I was hoping to fix it in the mean time. Oh well...
