FSX won't start

Every time I click the shortcut (I've tried the app in the main folder, too) I just get the FSX splash screen. I then let it sit, and sit, and sit, but it never loads! It will just show me a splash screen for hours.
This happened before, after I first installed FSX. It would let me open it up and fly like 3-5 times, then refused to ever start up again! So I ran repair, uninstall, and reinstall. Then it let me fly in it about 3-5 times, but refused to ever start up again! It ran fine before :'( Could I have done something wrong? Please help!

System Specs:
HP Pavilion with Vista Home Premium 6.0 - 32-bit
AMD Athon 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPU) ; 2.30 GHz
2046 megabytes RAM
320 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS Video Card (1008 MB memory)

Usually, it's a problem with the logbook. An error in the logbook sometimes happen, and this prevents the sim from starting. If you make a search in google with FSX logbook, you should find the solution very quickly.

As Daube pointed out, it is a classic symptom of a corrupted logbook.

The FSX logbook is VERY easily corrupted if you attempt to edit ANYentry, other than the last one, from within FSX.

Never, EVER edit the logbook from within FSX!!!!

There are a couple of logbook recovery utilities available and an excellent
logbook editor from Lamont Clark , "lc0277"... try searching on his ID.

He is also the author of the great AI Boat Utility and a couple of other
very useful programs.

For now, just rename your logbook so you can recover it later and
let FSX build a new one so you can get into flight.

Thanks a lot! Actually, I did edit the logbook in FSX last time it let me on. ;D But where can I find the logbook to rename it?

In your main My Documents folder there is an FSX folder.  On my PC the path is C:\Documents & Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\Logbook

I hope that helps.  Lamont Clark has a logbook editor that works really well.  Look on this site in FSX Utilities, if you can not find it there look over at avsim.net in the FSX Utilities section.
