Hello all,

I love FSX but every time I start a free flight, my plane has autopilot on and the simulation rate is at 16x. This happens every time so I have to pause to game and change the settings. Anyone know why it would be doing this?

Maybe check your default flight when you start up.  

I agree, try turning the autopilot off and set the time rate to normal. Then save the Situation and set it as standard.

Someone will be along that knows more than I do. In short, put a plane on a runway that hasn't been messed with. Now save that right then and there by pressing ; Name your flight when the box comes up. click ok. go back to main menu page and click load. Highlight your saved flight and near the bottom of that page put a check in "make this my default flight. Exit and go back to main page.

Or... hit the box titled "Set flight as default" on the screen that comes up when you hit ;
