Most odd. Out of the blue - if I click Y to slew my aircraft, it goes berserk, wildly spinning every whichway until I unslew. If anyone has come across this phenomenon and found a solution, advice would be much appreciated... :-/

Check the joystick assignments for slew mode. I believe, by default, joystick axes are assigned. If the axes are not centered when you enter slew (Y) you get movement.

For that reason, I prefer to delete the slew axes' assignments and rely on the keyboard assignments.

First.. make sure that all of your controls are completely neutralized (like Dave mentioned)..
