problem installing FSUIPC

hello...

i am once again faced with a weird problem... (i've honestly lost count of how many have assailed me these past few weeks)

well, i won't ramble... the thing is, i've recently downloaded a new aircraft which requires FSUIPC prior to working correctly... so i downloaded it, and proceeded to install... only to get an error message from the installer saying that my FSX installation is incorrect and suggesting i reinstall the sim...

i have a feeling that reinstalling will not solve much, since my current installment of FSX is quite recent... so i was wondering if anyone here might know a solution to this problem

sorry about all the problems i've been posting lately, but it seems FS is out to get me these days  ::)

thanks in advance

Cheers

ok i did some tinkering, and found that the error was caused by a badly set setup path in the registry (you can thank a dirty windows installation for that  ::) ) i corrected the reg entry and thankfully got rid of that problem...

only, now a new error message has appeared, related to simconnect...

i'm not too sure what this is, apart from knowing from fsinsider it's the primary FS data input/output service from where FSUIPC draws it's data, i have no idea where this might be located (is it a .dll file?) or why it's presenting such a hassle for me to install FSUIPC

i gather the problem must be due to a version mismatch somewhere, but i can't guess what i should do next...

i'm gonna keep digging, but if anyone can shed some light on this, it would be most welcome

Cheers

I just had this problem last night, when I downloaded a plane that had the version of FSUIPC that was for FSX for some reason in a plane that was for FS9, I reinstalled my FS9 version of FSUIPC and everything was fine again.
My guess is you have the same problem only reversed, the version you have might be the FS9 one which won't work in FSX. ;)

Try the one on this page: http://www.simviation.com/fsxutilities1.htm
(7th one down) see if that helps the problem.

If that don't work or this is the one you already have, then the gauge or utility trying to use it must not be compatible with the FSX version and was probably made for FS9.

EDIT: Just seen your new post after I posted this , so I guess this no longer applies. :D

I have done everything that has been recommended on here and on Pete Dowson's forum and I still cannot get FSUIPC to work in FSX.  It is installed I see it in the modules folder, but just wont activate.
Any ideas on what else I may try??

Thanks all in Advance!
