New Scenery Install

Good morning all... :)

The new scenery install for FS X won't install on my computer for some reason.

I have downloaded it twice and put in new folders.

I have tried this four or five times and it goes to the last 10 seconds and then Windows Explorer cuts in with encountering a problem every time.  Shuts down the install.

I am not running anything else while doing the install and this computer has lots of room on it.

I am running Vista as well.

Any help will be most appreciated.  Thanks in advance.... ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

The new scenery install for FS X...

Are you reffering to the Grand Canyon 2m Photoreal v2.0?  :-?

Hi Doug,

According to the readme file, installing the new autogen textures is simply a matter of copying the new textures over the originals in the Texture directory. I installed them yesterday, and I couldn't tell you if it worked or not. There is currently a snow storm over the Eastern Washington area, and with Real World Weather, it's completely whiteout conditions.

So I fired up FS, filed an IFR flightplan, and i'm currently flying through the snow storm, heading south so I can see the new autogen textures ;D

Make sure you make a backup of your original textures before overwriting them

Hi Andrew

Just sent you a note as you were typing the above post I suspect.

I backed up old textures in the Folder supplied.  Checked yes they were there.
Went to other Folder, copied textures, pasted them in FS X Textures.

Yes it looks simple enought but the last 10 seconds Windows Explorer encounters a problem and shuts me down.

Cheers...Doug
