I've searched and seen where these have been discussed before, but I'm still a little unclear. UTX and GEX are "just" textures, correct, and have nothing to do with the resolution or accuracy or contour of the terrain and its elevation? And contour and height "resolution" (not texture resolution) is what we refer to as "mesh"?
My biggest goal is sharp, crisp textures that look convincing at all altitudes, and preferably have autogen to match the textures, like trees lining a road or properly clustered around the towns. The screenshots on the various sites for these products seem to show that this is done... sometimes, and in some places. I'm not that concerned that what's on the texture or in the autogen actually matches real-world building locations -- I don't need to know that my local Wal-Mart is depicted and exactly where it should be.
My BIGGEST priority is to get something that gets rid of the ugly, blocky, mis-matching textures that define the airport borders. I want something that makes the airports more seamlessly blend into the surrounding terrain.
Also, do any of the **X products SHRINK the size of the autogen trees? They are way too big!!!!
Thanks!
