I would suggest you use some other aircraft to get to Africa then use the dc3 to fly various legs over Africa. Get yourself a good atlas and use that to pick your legs I used a Beach Craft Baron and flew short legs up the coast of Alaska then island hoped In a float plane  8-)

normal range is 1500 miles (2414 kilometers)
