please help me guys my fsx has no sound , i clicked the q button but the sounds are enabled . What else can i do to return it ????????????????

Make sure sound device is enabled in FSX settings, and then try reinstalling drivers. I assume normal windows sounds work?

yes the normal windows sounds work , i heard that i have to delete the fsx.cfg is it true and if yes where is the fsx.cfg ?

You could try that. Make sure hidden files and folders are showing then look in "C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.CFG".

just delete it and FSX will rebuild a new one. You will have to redo all your tweaks in fsx.cfg if you have any so back it up first before deleting it

ok i clicked show hidden files and folders and there is no fsx.cfg ????

uncheck 'hide protected operating system files aswell

I did it but  the file is not there!

Location of the fsx.cfg:


For Windows XP : C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX


For Windows Vista : C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX


Note:

"Hidden files and folders" have to be disabled in order to see this file.

To do so:
Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View Tab -> Scroll down and put a bullet in "Show hidden files and folders" -> Click "Apply"


Just copy and paste the relevant link in your windows explorer address bar

Obviously changing your user name where relevant.

Could you have deleted your sound.cfg by accident?

FSX sounds settings... in the FSX Settings you will see a dropdown for your sound card/system

make sure it is selected

I have a similar problem with no sound in FSX, SP1 and SP2 installed.
