eye point in 2D panels

In FSX 2D panels how can I raise the seat to see over the instrument panel when landing. I tried to raise eye point and all that but it doesn't have any effect, it works ok in the virtual cockpit, but some of my addons don't have a virtual cockpit, just 2D. Does anyone know what will work.
I tried all the tricks I use to use in FS9 but I can't get it to work here.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can change the eye point in 2D.

The keyboard commands for 2d "seat adjustment" in FSX are Ctrl-Q and Ctrl-Shift-Q. You need to HOLD the key(s) down for a bit to begin the action.
You can also assign the "tilt commands" to something such as your hat switch on a joystick or yoke. I have the hat switch on my yoke assigned to forward/back to adjust my view angle while in 2d panel mode.
For a more "permanent fix" keep reading...
Only one entry for View was carried forward from FS9 and earlier:
VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=1.000
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.900, 0.000, 0.000
The first obviously sets the default zoom.
The second is limited to Pitch, Bank, and Heading.
Typically you would only need to adjust the first value (3.900 above) to "tilt" your view downwards by some few degrees to better see the runway/taxiway in front of your a/c's nose.
The other entry that will affect your viewpoint is the entry at the bottom of the panel.cfg file:
SIZE_X=8192
SIZE_Y=3900
The X value should always remain 8192 (which is the full screen width) but the Y value sets the height of the "outside 3d view" such that the bottom edge of the 3d view's window will be just below the top edge of the panel's glareshield...

I just zoom out on the screen to where I see the same point on the ground as I do in vc mode. More or less the same as raising the seat.

I would like to thank everyone for their help. The cntrl-Q and cntrl_shift-Q is what I needed to know.
You people are alway very helpful, Thanks a million.

I'd like to echo those thanks - having just moved from FS9 to FSX myself I was wondering how you did that.
There's just one thing - having used Ctrl+Q to get the view how I want it, if I then look to one side (e.g. with Shift+NumPad keys) then look back forward again, the forward view has reset to its original setting, I need to Ctrl+Q again. I'll try assigning Ctrl+Q to a button on my joystick as suggested to make that resetting quicker, but I wondered if anyone knows if there's anything I could do to get it to remember its previous setting? (It's odd, if e.g. I switch to an outside view then back it remembers the view angle ok. It's only looking to the sides it gets reset).
thanks
Paul

Just what I posted the other day:

Thanks Bill -
I guess I was after something "not quite that permanent"

[quote]Paul, editing the panel.cfg entry only sets the "default viewpoint" that you want to have most of the time. It does not prevent you from using either the keyboard or hatswitch to make temporary adjustments when desired...

That just isn't possible in FSX...
