SP2 'fps' Better than Accelerations fps

I have recently done a complete reinstall of all my fsx, that means everything... gone. I reinstalled fsx, and then downloaded the SP1 patch, reinstalled me aerosoft twin otter... then used flight simulator with just that one addon at gatwick airport, using prettly much the same settings as I was before the reinstall; GREAT!! I took the limiter off and it had 70fps when I would usually have about 25 in free flight. Then I Installed SP1, No difference noticed in FPS, then Installed Xgraphics, frame rate decreased to 65.
But here is the intresting part... I inserted my acceleration disk and did exactly the same flight with accel installed; BAM! framerate dropped back to 30. I then decided to install fsx on my high spec laptop and try exactly the same but instead of installing fsx accel, i installed fsx SP2 I put all the sliders to their medium setting etc, I tried this and at heathrow using the default B737, looking in the same direction each time, and I had no decrease with fsx FPS.
I am wondering whether me buying accel was really a good buy, and whether i would have been better off going for the cheaper option with SP2. But however I love flying the P51 mustang.
Questions Summary
-Is it possible to reingstall fsx without accel and only with SP2 together with migrating the extra aircraft accross.
-How Do I uninstall fsx Accel without it going corrupt, I can only see the FSX Acceleration Uninstaller come up in the control panel and cannot find a seprate uninstaller for each fsx and Acceleration ( I have looked at the Clean fsx reinstall post but I doesnt help on uninstalling it ) [ Last time I Uninstalled it this way I was all corrupt and wouldnt let me reinstall, Uninstall or repair without an error.

Go to the FSX folder and copy the Gauges, Simobjects and Effects folder to another location. Uninstall FSX acceleration and FSX
manually. Find the directory for the application and delete all the files in the directory. Delete the directory.
Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and find the folder for the application. Delete the folder.
Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE and find the folder for the application. Delete the folder.
To remove the application entry from Add/Remove Programs (if present) open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and find the folder for the application. Delete the folder.
Some applications have Services attached to them. If this is the case, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services, locate and delete the service.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the individual user settings and delete program references. Common places to check would be:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs and delete relevant entries.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and delete relevant entries.
C:\Documents and Settings\%YourUserID%\Start Menu\Programs and delete relevant entries.
[Do this for each User ID listed]
C:\Documents and Settings\%YourUserID%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and delete relevant entries.
[Do this for each User ID listed]
If no entries were found in the previous step and the application launches automatically, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
and delete the entry.
Some of these steps can be skipped if they don't apply.
Note I am not responsible for any damage done to your registry etc etc. In other words: always double check before you delete, make sure to set a system restore point, and don't delete any subfolders called "9.0" as those are the FS9 reg keys.

I have done something like this using a registery uninstaller program to clean uninstall fsx before but That was only on a 15 day trial and the trial is up. I will try what you just mentioned when I come round to doing it, thanks alot buddy.

I dought it asboth my pc's are dual or quad cores, and i also remember doing a similar sort of test with my desktop pc and i remember a similar sort of thing happening, only I didnt record the results that time.

I have just done a test on my fsx accel on my desktop disabling both core 3 and 4 on the fsx.exe through my task manager and no difference, it does lag when i get it down to the one core though

You can uninstall Acceleration anytime, I did it in order to install SP2, then uninstall SP2 and reinstall FSX (don't ask me why).
I don't remember if I did it with the DVD (installation program has an uninstall ?) or directly from the add/remove programs... however, everything went ok.
