Settings keep resetting

My FSX keeps resetting its settings after I close out. Mainly the aircraft traffic and realism settings. I have the airline and general aviation traffic at 20%, but it keeps resetting to zero. I usually fly with realistic settings (except unlimited fuel), but the settings keep defaulting to "ignore crashes". It's getting really annoying.

Do you save the changes? And if, did you change the location you save them to?

You don't need to save changes in settings, it automatically happens in the FSX.cfg.

If you're using Vista, try launching FSX as administrator changing settings, exit then restart and see if that fixes it.
