This is the first driver I would put my seal of approval on for XP x64 and the 8000 series cards since 174.74 beta
Its my understanding the driver also performs equally in Vista
The IQ is better and I can confrim after putting the screws to this driver over the last week there is a defined 8-20% increase depending on the scene with an average of about 9-13
This driver is also the first official support for x58
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us180.48
It looks like a FSX winner but of course YMMV
This is my new driver of choice

If an .ini file modded for an 8600M GT surfaces, I'll snag it...

I have an 8800 Ultra. This driver run FSX very well but gives me massive artifacts using ATI tool. The 174.74 driver shows none of these artifacts. No other anomalies, just ATI tool. My card if factory overclocked but I haven't changed any settings.
Nick, can you comment on this? I want to keep this new driver. Is ATI tool just telling me lies?

newer drivers dont seem like ATI tool with nvidia cards
the OC function works but the auto scanner seems to go nuts
I saw them too a few times and just ignore it
Some test with ATI tool ran clean for 30 minutes others crapped out in a matter of minutes
Im not worried about it because I know the card is clocked clean and the temps are in line
Im sure its just the fact that ATi Tool is years behind the nvidia drivers. Some Nv drivers dont allow ATI tool to work at all and will crash windows when ATI tool is launched

That's what I figured.

You'll find modded .inf files in these links for the 180.48 drivers, for use with older graphic cards.

My spec,
windows vista 32bit
8800GTX 768mb card
Q6600 core 2 quad CPU
When I saw this on the nvidia site I didnt bother as it said that the improvements are only for the new gtx260 range and using sli
Can you confirm you not using sli , and do you reckon its going to be an improvement to my 178 driver
