good days,

I have fsx deluxe, like to use that program as hobby. it looks fine.
I have thre questions.

1. what does it mean of ARC DME ?
2. I always use NAV1 , what is NAV2 used for ?
3. ILS landing and GPS navigation is easy. but VOR Landing is difficult.
I follow up the comments of ATC one by one, but When I get final approach , I could not handle it  please give me some tips.

Nav 2 can be used in the same way as Nav 1.

I usually use it, if I'm flying outbound from a VOR on Nav 1, and I wanna capture an inbound course to another VOR, so I know when I'm in range.

Fly the lesson 'The VOR Approach' in the Instrument part of the Lessons in the Learning Center, to learn how to do a VOR approach

Once you can get up the menu  (Alt button) then set up the "Visual Flight Path" under the "Aircraft" menu.   Can't get much more helpful than that.  Also I hope you are using a joystick!!!!   Much easier to fly.

Also start with the Cessna 172.....until you can land then move up to jets if you wish.  The 737-800 is the best flying one IMO.  Love that auto-pilot.

Here's is a great short flight to practice your DME arcs from Kahuluii, Maui to Honnolulu, Oahu. You'll get to fly two DME arc's in a short distance.

Brett gave a good explanation.  A DME arc is a PITA, even in real life where the knobs are at your fingertips instead of having to move the mouse.  Twist 10, turn 10 is how you fly them.  Not an easy thing to do on the sim

A good GPS or FMC make DME arc's a snap. Just punch in the plan and let it do them.
