I checked the fsx.cfg & this is all it has for Terrain, is it right?
[TERRAIN]
LOD_RADIUS=4.500000
MESH_COMPLEXITY=75
MESH_RESOLUTION=20
TEXTURE_RESOLUTION=25
AUTOGEN_DENSITY=3
DETAIL_TEXTURE=0
WATER_EFFECTS=7
[AContain]

That's right! Though I don't know why you think exactly the TERRAIN section messes FSX up...
For the rest I'm sorry: no idea  :-[

Just thought they were so few!

Do you happen to fly this Beech Baron G1000. I found it rather unstable, and how do you S/W ON the AP. The ILS freqs do not seem to mutch the airports.

Is there a manual for this Garmin instrumentation?

Sorry, since I haven't got the gold-edition I can't say anything about the G1000s...

I fly the default Beech from time to time (but prefer single props, or the real big ones  ;)):
activating the AP should be no problem in 2D-panel - just look for a button with AP on it! Or use the default 'Z' button to engage/disengage the AP (and see wich switch turns 'on'/'off').
