I have just got my fsx reinstalled after it was slowing down more and more and the fsx directory was getting larger and larger, so i decided to start on a clean slate. I have just ticked my DX10 Preview Box and iv noticed that all my taxiways seem to flicker like a disco strobe light, Any theorys? and is there any fix's for this?

System spec includes vista, and a 8800GTX GPU

IMO, and please note it is only my opinion:

DX9 is far better then DX10 due to many add-ons not really been compatible with DX10.

FSX also performs much better on my rig in DX9 mode then DX10.

Last but least, DX10 imo does not look much better then DX9, which I do find as the case with most other games eg. FPS on the market.

just my 2 cents

I played with the DX10 setting on my game as well. I noticed no real difference except it defaulted to my native screen resolution (which I don't want) and all the options were 32 million colors with no 16 million colors available. I can't really tell a difference between the two color choices so why take up resources for something I can see?

I didn't have any issues with game play other than it slowed down a bit but I probably could have tweaked things and fixed that. I just didn't notice any difference in how the game looked. I promptly changed it back to the way it was.
