Help: ILS Landings Learjet

Hello I'm new to the boards, and am looking for some help.

I usually fly the Bombardier Learjet (FSX), and I think I have the basics down.  I need help figuring out how to land ILS.  I watched some videos on YouTube that got me started.

Last night I departed Sky Harbor Intl Phoenix, and flew to Luke AFB I just wanted a short trip.  I checked the map for the ILS frequincy for the runway, and the heading.  I put the frequincy into NAV 1 on my radio stack.  When I was near the airport, I hit the approach button on my autopilot.  It seemed to line me up pretty well, but it looked like it was going to land me before the runway (a little) was I just being paranoid?

Then I flew back to Sky Harbor, and the ILS was like 113.750 I couldn't get the .750 part it would only go .50, and .00 not increment in .25 so I ended up way left.

How far ahead can I turn on the approach, and do I have to be lined up with the runway, or can it get me there?  Am I doing something wrong?

An ILS is not supposed to land you, or align you with the runway, or do any of the pilot's tasks. An ILS is intended to guide you down an approach to descision height, wher you then take over and land visually.

By "guide you", I mean let you know if you're high or low or left or right, durning the approach, so that you can make corrections... i.e.

FSX has its little bugs, as does every game out there. IE sometimes i cant respond to the ATC b.c the option enver shows up, so they keep going did u hear my last transmission, like 5 times, until they finally cancel my IFR without me being able to do anything. so you mihgt just have to live without the .750 freq, unless u find out you were doing something dumb lol.

wow hold your horses lol, FSX is a baby. until nehalem and ddr3 are put together with FSX, few have seen its true potential (im talking all sliders up, PMDG 747 into LAX, with real AI, street traffic, GEX, FEX, REX, UTX, you name it) at 30+ FPS. FSX is a great piece of work, and itll be around for at least another two years. A lot of people just dont know how to run FSX and tune their system and FSX, i didnt until i joined here nad read everything nick posted. im tellin ya, FSX is a great game, just misused i guess.
