black cockpit windows

I recently found a freeware concorde. It has a good flight model, a nice virtual cockpit, etc., much higher quality than the ordinary freeware aircraft. The only issue is that in the virtual cockpit and in the outside view, the cockpit windows are an opaque black, you can't see in or out. How can I change this? Is something going on with the way fsx does reflections? I really want to fly this without having to use the 2d panel.

any help?

thanks

Help is at hand. Download DXTBmp and open the glass texture, found in the texture folder, in this case "Glass_T".  At the top of the DXTBmp window click the "alpha" button.  Then on the menu click "create Alpha Channel (Black)"  click yes.  Then save.  Now it should work in the game.

that worked perfectly!

thank you!

So.... is it as easy as that to fix most of the stuff like this that goes wrong... opaque canopies and prop spinner, etc.? Can I just use this on any other aircraft with this problem? What's the difference between a black alpha channel and a green one?

thanks

Most of the time it probably works, won't always work though. As for the alpha channel, you'd better get an experienced texture artist to answer that one.

I can imagine it's the usual one, I think there was one on here.
