alright, here's the deal:
My comp isn't really all that performance orientated anyway, but, with scenery at normal-dense, and NO autogen i manage to get 15-23 fps! ;)
BUT!!
as soon as i take the autogen off of "0"....to sparse...it drops like a brick sh*t house....i get 5-8 if I'm lucky...
is there some tweak tot he files used, the trees, textures, etc that can boost this?
I'm really enjoying the fps!!! but hating the lack of scenery.. :'(

there are tweaks that replace texture files for autgen, making htem more compact, search around, i think the guy who made it is called matt, its on avsim i believe.
theres also another tweak that gets rid of most tree types and only displyas a few certain kinds. that one is extremeish though.
there is also going through nick's how to set up XP, and then defraging with O&O and usnig nhancer, all of which will boost your performance/visuals ratio, but since u have 260 posts here, iim guessing u already did that.
there is a FSX.CFG tweak to readuce the max autogen per cell, and several for performance, LOD, etc, but i would not mess with any of that.
lastly, u need to post your pc specs for ppl to help u out on this one i guess. i dont know much, so im not gonna reccomend anything, but there are many autgen tweaks out there.

well...
64 bit vista
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz
4.00 GB RAM
358MB Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (video card)
220GB HD
so the nHancer bit is kinda out...b/c of the video card...I have been through nicks tutorial (very nice btw nick *thumbs up*) and messed with the FSX.cfg file. The one thing i didn't do with that is the autogen part....
I'll do some looking, but if someone has suggestions...I'm all for it!
thanks

Your graphics is what really holds you back, you need a dedicated graphics card.
