Vista questions

I'm not exactly computer illiterate, but then again, I'm by far no expert. I recently built a new pc and opted for Windows Vista. But since installing FSX, I'm finding a few problems and I'm wanting to blame Vista. I've been trying to install new aircraft and paint schemes, but Vista won't let me edit the aircraft cfg files. Hopefully this description isn't that vague, but is this a Vista quirk or am I doing something wrong?

Vista quirk. Go to Control Panel\User Accounts\Turn User Account Control On or Off and turn UAC off. Restart. now if you still can't save the cfg's then just "Save As" the cfg to the desktop and move it to the correct file and overwrite the old cfg. ;)

****NOTE BY TURNING UAC OFF YOU STILL HAVE TO RUN FSX AS ADMINISTATOR AND OTHER PROGRAMS AS WELL****
