quad core setup

With this new computer I have just bought I was wondering what I have to do to set the quad core up. It probably has been on here but I missed it and can't find it right now.

I have a 3.0GHz Intel Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 Quad Core Processor.

I heard that if it is not setup properly one quad does all the work and the others stay at idle.
I looked in the BIOS and made sure all four quads are enabled. Is there anything else I should do?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you are on FSX SP2 as long as the BIOS is set up, FSX will use all 4 cores. Do be advised, FSX uses the first and part of the 2nd core for the primary rendering and the rest of the cores (up to 256) for autogen and terrain only

Good processor... if you overclock that processor you get get a lot more out of FSX. I happen to know for a fact that processor will do 4.05GHz on air but you do have to be able to run 450MHz FSB to hit that speed and all the CPU Advanced power management muyst be disabled in the BIOS.

If you do not know anything about overclocking I would not suggest you try it.. but it is a key way most people get a lot more out of FSX.

Even if you were to only run 400FSB the proc multipler is 9 so you would be running 3.6GHz which would boost your experience
