I'm having trouble doing it.

I'm pressing ctrl + G on both add-on planes as well as default planes, but nothing happens.

Is it even possible?

That is because unless you have altered the keystroke it is just the G key by itself no nee to press any other key. 8-)

Manually

It is a keyboard stroke, so how are you going to do anything manually on a virtual aircraft ;D ;D

Sorry...................you have to sign the key/s you want to use.

Ctrl + G is of course correct :)
This key combination 'simulates' handpumping the gear down.
So you have press ctrl+G a LOT to get the gear down AND locked!

Depends on the way the gear is powered.
This is for EMERGENCY use only and works ONLY if the normal power source is unavailable

E.g. in the default Baron you have to turn the electrics off (or fail the electrical system) Press G and nothing will happen. (But I think you have to press G nevertheless to 'unlock' it first)

In the default King Air you have to get rid of hydraulic pressure so you can e.g. shut down and feather both engines.
Or you can fail the hydraulic pumps.
As soon as the feathered props don't windmill anymore you can use Ctrl+G :)

You have to get rid of the normal power souce for the aircraft 1st. Press G to unlock it and either Hold ctrl+g or press it if u want. If You want to raise it press G again and repeat...

Problem solved... doesn't work when gear fails  ::)

So it's pretty much obsolete, unless it's your power supply that fails...

Thanks guys! :)
