I've seen quite a few posts stating that X-plane's flight dynamics are more realistic than FSX, so I looked into it alittle and found this:

Interesting results. Hope this helps someone's important purchasing desicion! ;)

The most important thing to read in this article is the comments.
There are some pertinent remarks about the way the author of the aritcle made his analysis, and you'll understand that the reality is not really what you can see in the article.

To sum it up, this article is really imprecise and fails to show the advantages of XPlane. For taking a decision, I would recommend this article to anybody, but not only the article, the comments as well !

If Xplane would not have bad graphics and bad interface (which are keeping me away from it... for the moment), much more people would understand its benefits over FSX.

I was looking for something about the benefits, do you happen to know of an article? I would really like to know some more about this platform, but I feel that their site might be a little biased.

I've used them both.. quite a bit...

The differences in realistic flight dynamics are mostly on paper.. as in, using graphs.. and analysis  to compare printed data.. X-Plane would get the nod on some areas.. and NOT some areas.. with the net being insignificant considering the limitations of a desktop simulator to begin with.

Takeoff to landing, from a pilot's perspective, doing normal pilot stuff..  neither is better from a flight-dynamics aspect. Everything else considered.. FSX is far superior.
