Well, that is a lot to cover, but here goes nothing!

1. You decend by pushing foreword on your joystick, or yoke
2. Not sure
3. Again, not sure as it is a german copy
4. When you select an airport as your starting location, you go into the location pulldown and select the runway, gate or parking spot that you wish to use.
5. None of the default planes are capable of reaching 60,000 feet, but you can use the autopilot's altitude hold mode to select an altitude.
6.  The flaps increase lift and drag so that the plane stalls (Stops flying and falls like a brick) at a lower speed so that it is easier to control during decent, approach, and just after takeoff.
7. You need to use the rudder to keep the aircraft centered.
8. The aircraft can autoland, but it is a complex autopilot function.

Also, there is a bar on the left side of the screen called "Learning Center" and it has articles, manuals, and procedures that explain most of the functions of the game, and answer you questions.  I hope this helps!!! :)

First off, welcome to SimV. Don't belittle yourself. We were all new at one point, so don't let yourself get discouraged. I would suggest starting with the basics in a small single engine aircraft, and working your way up. Otherwise, it would be like jumping into the deep end of the pool before learning how to swim. If you head down to the flightschool board here, you will find a PPL course that goes over a lot of important basic maneauvers and concepts that would be helpfull for you.

You also need a joystick that twists in order to have rudder control :)

You will need to learn about aeroplane specs, Simply i doubt if you could get a 737 to fly at 60000 ft, not sure if they will go above 38000, a cessna may only go to 15000 ft, anything higher then the plane specs it will either stall and fall out of the sky or wont fly level. You need to learn about one plane at a time, start with the small props first till you get familiar before you leap into the jets.

Someone posted a link to a download that would change German versions to English...

And using flaps doesn't stall the plane, it allows it to fly slower without stalling.

I suggest you start small, and work your way up.

If you'd, I could give you a lesson or two :)
