"Bad" File

Postby mick1 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:39 am

I did a dumb thing.

I modified a file w/o backing up the original. (I know, I know,...but it was late, I was tired, yada, yada, yada...no excuse. I know better! :) )

Anyway, any chance someone could "toss me a life vest" and go into their aircraft.cfg file for the default Aircreation582SL, copy n paste the text back here so I can get my little air trikes back?

I promise not to do such a silly thing again.

Thanks,
Mick

We don't hva eto sedn you the file....

If you put in the the FSX disks it brings up Unistall and REPAIR.

Click the REPAIR Option and everything will be good, it doesn't delete any addons' or aircraft, but if you have any scencery you will have to reinstall any scenery you downloaded an installed into FSX.  ;D

Not sure about that Repair option. I assume it replaces all default files with the originals. In this case you would probably lose all your repaints for a start.

I really can't see the harm in posting that Aircraft.cfg here. It won't be any use to anyone without FSX. I would do it but I only have the Demo.

No point. It wouldn't run on my old machine.

Not sure how that works then.

Anyway I only had like 2 extra repaints at the time so i didn't care if they got erased because i could just come here and download them.

IIRC, I once repaired, and I regained all lost files, but none of my add-ons were deleted.

Sorry. I meant repaints for the default aircraft or any mods where editing default files is involved. This was a common problem in CFS2 which has a similar Repair option.
