no. its 4 generations old and the low end of that generation

nV generations
GTX2xx series
9xxx series
8xxx series
7xxx series.

7xxx series is DX9 only, from 8xxx on is DX10.

when xx(x) = 80(0), 90(0), thats high end ( as in 7800, 8800, 9800, GTX 280 )

when xx(x) = 50(0), 60(0), thats mid-range ( as in 7600, 8500, 9600, GTX 260 )

when xx(x) = 20(0), 30(0), thats low end ( as in 7300, 8200, 9200 )

low settings is about all you should use, with a low resolution, no AA, and bi or tri linear filtering

If you can upgrade, think about at least an 8800GT, they run well and are dirt cheap just now, as long as you shop around.

I would go for something like this and upwards http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =GX-071-OK

Please double check that your system can handle a new card, if its compatable with your motherboard etc.. before purchasing.

I would also look at your ram, Cpu etc.. and see if they are up for it as a new Graphics card with older Hardware will often not give you any performance boost, at least not what you were probably looking for.

If you can get some info from your System Control Panel, let us know and we could advise a little more.

Strange, I used to use a GeForce 6200 at medium-high settings.

Now I use a Radeon 9550 at 1280x1024, medium-high/high settings.

You can use Ultra High settings if you like, but Based on the specific card, for the best performance, that is the recommended setting, using higher will still run, but with issues.

I'm not doubting you, but an 8800GT or above Will perform much better.

Be very carefull with upgrading a graphics card if the rest of your hardware is not up to it, it will bottleneck a good Graphics card.

I've seen people upgrading and not getting the boost they expected.

FSX is mainly CPU Hungry.

ok, good stuff.

Whats your spec if you dont mind me asking?

an 8800GTX if you can afford it is FSX's best card.
