FSX aircraft to FSIX

Is there anyway to convert FSX aircraft into FSIX?

By FSIX, I take it you mean FS9?

In short... I don't think so.

I assume by FSIX you mean FS9. In that case the answer would be No, IF the aircraft is a genuine FSX model. In many cases addon aircraft described as being FSX-compatible are actually FS9 models updated to work in FSX. This is often done without the original author's knowledge & the "update" involves nothing more than adding a thumbnail to the Texture folder. These aircraft will probably not be compatible with all versions of FSX. They could obviously be converted back to work in FS9 but it would be far better to find the FS9 originals.

PS. If you have a specific aircraft in mind I will happily check it out for you.

What could they possibly have for FSX that you can't get for FS9? :-?
Most Fsx addons are just modded FS9 addons anyway! ;)

If you have a specific a/c in mind let us know ..

The main 1st clue would probably be the 'texture' folder. If the textures are '.BMP' then there is a good chance the a/c was originally created for FS9 & could be easily modded back to FS9 - often by the sound &/or panel. You could either alias the panel or sound or install a FS9 version.

Like others have said - what did you have in mind?

Of course there is a way , by having the originals Gmax or 3d max files ,instead using FSX-SDk ,you will change some animations and will replace FlightsimX material by Standard Material and then you will export using pandasoft in 3d max to X and in the gmax you will need to replace the gamepack /FSX_Gmax for FS9.SDK..

I did it with the Citation 500/I, and I promise I won't never ever do that again ,Its annoying, Tedious ,and its like going back ..

in my personal case what I could do (that's for sure) its the Opposite of what you want ,Grabbing my old makemdl9 planes and convert them into FSX  8-)

Mainly I was wondering about the default FSX models? Not add-ons, I understand that FSX add-ons can be converted to FS9, but can the default models?

My PC cant run FSX because of the terrain, but I prefer the default aircraft cockpits Vcs etc and the Garmin 1000 Avionics.

What? nooooooo my dear friend ,see, these and most of FSX have features that FS9 doesn't even and wont understand at all ,like bloom ,specular map ,Bump map (what makes heads screws relistic)

There imposible that any software reverse and change a plane made by a software under XML code ,FS9 uses data under BGL code..

you won't ever have ANY of the features of the FSX planes in FS9 ,that why Despite all the complaints of so many people for some issues ,this program is unique ,and the best place to run a great b737-800 is in FSX  ;)
