FSX Smoke Effects, F-15 VC Problems

Ok, I have installed a few aircraft from FS2004 into FSX and the smoke effects that come with them work, but they appear to be on the wrong axis. I know from resetting camera definitions, FSX reorders it's X, Y, Z to a funny order. I was wondering if this was happening somehow with the smoke. The smoke behind the four engines, the correct spacing apart, but instead of lining up behing the engines, the smoke shoots out in a vertical line perpindicular to the row of engines, if that makes any sense.

Issue #2, I have installed several Coral F-15 from FS2004 which are supposed to work perfectly, however, every time I do, the VC has a giant hole in the bottom and I can see the runway. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

Thanks a bunch,
Josh

Ok, I'll look around for a possible fix. It's still fun to fly, if you can get past the hole in the floor, :).

I haven't worked with editing effects before. Is there a program I need to make those X, Y, Z, adjustments or do I pop them open in notepad or ... ?

Thanks again,
Josh

Ok, I found out I can open them in notepad but I don't know which values to change and/or if I need to make changes in the CFG anywhere. I messed around with emitter values but they didn't change anything. That's where I'm at now ...

If you are using Vista, you need to copy the aircraft.cfg to the desktop, rename the original aircraft.cft in the aircraft folder (as a backup), open the desktop copy, edit, close, save, then copy/ paste back into the aircraft folder.

The smoke effect is eitehr in the [lights] or [smokesystem] sections.  Without knowing which aircraft you have, I have no idea which section they are in.  Usually, you have to swap around the last two columns, but it depends.  If you could give me some examples, I may have them and have already made the adjustments.

WoW, ok, I got it fixed, the smoke that is ... I think the F-15 thing is hopeless. It was the [Smokesystem] section of the CFG. Thanks a million!!
