Boeing 727 Problem FSX

Postby usapatriot » Fri Aug 15, 2008 12:30 pm

I've downloaded the excellent Boeing 727 for FSX but I have a couple of problems. The engines won't throttle up, or if they do the plane does not move at all. The brakes are not on and the engine is started but the plane just does not move.

The only FSX 727 designed for FSX is Alrot's, Civilian Jets, page 28.

In spite of the fact that I have FSX and SP1 *only*, and the discription says it's only compatable with FSX + SP1 + SP2, it works perfectly for me.

Uspatriot, when you installed FSX, did you do a "Custom Install", or did you let FSX set itself up?

I was wondering the same thing. He's having problems with literally everything he tries to load up. Just cant figure out what the deal is, ya know?

What are you talking about ? that plane does not have issues was posted in february and I haven't heard a single complaint of it ...

I' don't think of any of the posted 727 like vistaliners  model or any other 727 for FSX has issues specificly if they where  download it from here   ..maybe it has to be with his machine..

Oh, it's definitly with his system.  Of that there is no doubt.  We're just trying to figure out what his system's problem is.

Like i said, even though your 727 says it's incompatable with anything less then FSX, SP1 and 2, I only have sp1, and it works perfectly.  At least, I've never had any problems with it.

I personnally put everything in the simobject/aiplanes folder.
I have tried the trick that consist in declaring the fsx\aircraft (just like FS9 style) in the cfg and then placing all my addons there, unfortunately this does not work when the plane uses some alias stuff. So now I put every plane at the same place and it works with no problems.

alright then, it's all going in the default folder from now on.

how about gauges?

I heard it ok to put then in the panel folder.

Just put everything in the default locations. I.E. the main aircraft folder goes in the simobjects/airplanes, the gauges go in the main gauge folder, the effects go in the main effects folder, etc...

This is the way I do it, and have no problems.

Alright, I guess that's the route I will take as well then.

Unless you are re-gauging a panel because it's not a true FSX add-on (An incompletely modified FS9 or earlier add-on), and the gauge is unsupported (FS98 or earlier), there is no real need to do that that I can think of.

(added)  Even if you are re-gauging, I don't think you need the gauge placed in the Panel folder.  The sim will look for it in the "Gauge" directory, anyway.
