Virtual Cockpits...

I've downloaded a few aircraft for FSX, but when I load them into the flightsim, there are big black squares/blocks on the instrument panel while in the Virtual Cockpit view. This even occurs with aircraft that were supposedly built specifically for FSX. Is this a normal occurance, or is it a problem on my end?

If you are talking about a black bar, running across the bottom 1/4 to 1/3, of the screen, try the following.

Open the panel.cfg file inside the panel folder for that aircraft. Find this entry under [Window00]...

'render_3d_window=1'

Replace the 1 with a 0.

Hope this helps,
Jim

Best thing would be that you take a screenshot of your problem and post it here, so that we can recognize exactely the problem :)

I think ,it wasn't map it see there are some models in Fs2004 we use to not to map it ,in Fs9 works fine but FSx wont accept this and instead will show black images  turn on all the lights should be show in sort of beige colour

Of course Im not too sure if this is your case, if you have FS9 in your pc and By coincidence you have the citation x I made ,made a copy of the folder and put in FSX (Say no to all the gauges stuff) and you may also see the same problem in the VC

As always it helps to give the model in question.

In my experience some VC's/VC textures refuse to display in FSX - it may be a texture format or model incompatibility.

I havn't kept track of all of the addon aircraft that this problem occurs with, but the particular model in the screenshot is the 'FSX Bell UH-1H Coast Guard Huey' located on Page 2 in the FSX Helicoptors section

OK - solution is to find another version of this, if there is one, & copy the VC textures & install gauges. You may find some gauges are incompatible

An example of Jordan Moore's UH1 is here which includes a texture DVC_Panel.BMP (in the textures folder) - that may be it.

It also uses default FS2004 gauges - --

I'll take a look at this file later if I remember & do what I can to fix & reupload it. (If I remember...)

http://www.simviation.com/fs2004helicopters8.htm

The new FSX Coast Guard Bell Huey does have 'DVC_Panel.BMP' file in the textures folder. I tried using a texture set from the original FS2004 model, but it made no difference.
