Mirage 2000 Basic Pack: photoreal textures !!

Hi all,

I just found this information on another forum: there is a new pack of photoreal repaints for the famous Mirage 2000N from Roland Laborie. Those repaints look terrific, and finally the Mirage 2000 starts to look as good as the repaints of the Mirage F-1 from Kirk Olsson.

You can see screenshot there:

(scroll down a bit)

You can download the pack by searching "Mirage 2000 N Basic Pack" on Avsim.com.

I'll download and install it tonight !!

EDIT: direct dowload link:

On the screenshots topic, the author said that the file will be uploaded to Simviation too :)

Here is one of the screenshots included in the pack:

Well I will chime in and say that it is an AMAZING plane. However, the panel does not work.

The panel of the Mirage 2000N works perfectly in FSX. You must have done something wrong (or simply forgot something) during the install ! In fact, this plane is one of the greatests freewares with VC.

Well the panel is there, but the HUD is blank and the gauges are blacked out.

Installed it and understood:
You need to edit the panel.cfg.
The gauges are refering to another version of that plane, from another folder. Simply delete every "..\aircraft\Dassault Mirage 2000 N\panel" that you find. Not the full line, just this part ! Then everything will work.

FOR EXAMPLE:
In notepad, open the panel.cfg.
Then go to the EDIT menu, and choose "Replace".
You have to replace "=..\aircraft\Dassault Mirage 2000 N\panel" with "=".
Press "Replace all".
Save and close. You're good to go :)

Keep in mind that this VC is quite complex, though. The button for the avionincs master (which will trigger the HUD) is one of those above the test lights (red and orange stuff, on the right).

Did anyone happen to notice that when you activate the tail hook on this a/c (i know it doesnt have one), the canopy blows and the pilots eject?  lol pretty funny...even funnier when you active again, they come back... ;D

The effects smoke is slightly misaligned, any fix for that?

Yes !
I haven't fixed it myself yet so I cannot give the precise values for now, however here is the problem: the effect is written in the aircraft.cfg, ok ? Right after the effect name, there are some numbers, which are in fact the coordinates where this effect should appear (like X,Y and Z).

Unfortunately, in FSX, the order of those coordinates has been changed, but I can't remember in which way. (XYZ or YXZ or ZYX or something...). You have just to modify the sequence of those numbers and see wht happens. No need to modify the values, just the order.
