Landing lights...

Postby Anxyous » Sun Jun 22, 2008 10:05 am

I got a problem in most aircraft, with the landing lights not lining properly immediately.

Ie. on the Learjet 45, if I switch to an outside view, the landing lights will be to the right and behind of the jet, and then slowly line up.

Same with my Alphasim F-86F, and a lot of other aircraft.

Is there a fix to this?

Yeah.

Okay well this is what I found in my Learjet aircraft.cfg with the lights. Is it the same as this...

[glow=yellow,2,300][LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3,  -39.00, -23.6,  -0.25, fx_navredm ,
light.1 = 3,  -39.00,  23.6,  -0.25, fx_navgrem ,
light.2 = 3,  -63.63,   0.00,  9.20, fx_navwhi ,
light.3 = 1,  -37.00,   0.00, -2.59, fx_beaconb ,
light.4 = 2,  -36.97,   0.00, -2.62, fx_strobe ,
light.5 = 1,  -63.05,   0.00,  9.75, fx_beaconh ,
//light.6 = 5,  -29.7,   -1.3,  -1.71, fx_landing ,
//light.7 = 5,  -29.7,    1.3,  -1.71, fx_landing ,

The landing lights on all my aircraft are misaligned. I think it's an FSX issue

Is this when you are on the ground, ready to taxi, or is it on approach, coming in for a landing?

What I find odd is that the landing lights work with the "//" in front of the landing light lines.

On the Lear 45, they are on the main gear.  I think they are on the nose gear on the F-86.

All the time.

And it's not misaligned all the time, they slowly align, but it's annoying...

Bump.

This is really starting to bug me, so here's a pic.

I'm flying a payware add-on, but it happens with all default aircraft as well.

And does anyone know a lights enhancer?

My halos look bad...

Okay, I can guess what's happening now.  I've seen similar effects before just with regular lights too.  The only thing I can *guess* at what is happening is that the landing lights are seen as a separate entity from the aircraft model and for some reason it's not being seen at the same exact location as the aircraft.  It's possible, and again, I am guessing, some very minor tweaks to the landing light co-ordinates *may* help.

You say all aircraft do this?
