Static/parked aircraft

I have recently reinstalled FSX on Vista x64.

All is going well, except there are no parked or static AI aircraft at any airport.

I have not installed ANY additional AI aircraft, such as WOAI, NOR have I installed any application such as My Traffic X.

To the best of my knowledge I have not altered any native install, and comparing the World/Scenery/Scenery folder with a backed up version, there seems to be nothing missing.

I have been running with the Traffic sliders at 50%, and boats and other bgls seem to be working.

But something must be, and I can't work it out.

I would like to avoid running a repair - as in my experience it would mean that I would have to reinstall all mesh add-ons.

I would be grateful for any assistance.

Did you do a clean install, i.e; Did you have add-on ai traffic files in your previous install that may still be present?

There are only 2 default ai traffic files in.....\Scenery\World\scenery\..

-trafficAircraft.bgl

-trafficBoats.bgl-only ships and ferries ai traffic...all other traffic, small boats, cars, etc. are spawned differently, not from an ai traffic file.

Any other 'leftover' traffic file (in FS9 format) will kill the FSX default ai traffic, even if their add-on ai aircraft are not present.

Are you checking at larger airports? Try  Views>New View or View Mode>Air Traffic and see if the are ai aircraft listed.

Thanks Dave, I copied the Traffic.bgl over from the backup and I have started to get some on-ground traffic.

But if I recall Friday Harbour came with static aircraft, as did some others.  There was a Cub if I recall.  I can't get those and I was wondering if there is still something missing from another file or folder I could transfer over.  It would need to be on an AFX I assume.

In my backup I have Traffic.bgl.passive, but I have assumed this was the Traffic bgl backed up by an AI add-on.  Is that correct?
