Is there a way for me to open something up while flying without it pausing automatically?
I know how to like minimize the game but if I wanted to open FSACARS while flying or such how do I open that while still flying without it pausing?

I believe while you are flying the sim you go to options>settings>general, and there should be a spot to uncheck "pause upon switching task"

I find that I can switch on my Bendix-King Auto-Pilot in FS 2004 whilst I am making a cup of Tea, cooking my Dinner, mowing my grass, entertaining the Tupperware Lady, ....or even going to the Toilet.... ...!

That's what I call true Multi-Tasking... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!
