Innsbruck ILS RW26 Approach?

Postby Anxyous » Tue Jul 29, 2008 1:04 pm

Has anybody flown this?

It seems to be off for some reason.

I flew to Innsbruck today with quite a bit of fog, and the controller gave me the localizer approach.

Seeing as I've no clue on how to fly that approach, I decided to do a straight in ILS approach instead.

I had no problems, but I wasn't coming down to the runway like I should.

I'm absolutely sure I had everything tuned to the correct frequency, and I tried again later, but it was still off...

And I'm definitely on the glideslope.

Could anyone try this and shed some light on it?

IIRC, Innsbruck has the glideslope offset by 5 degrees to compensate for the mountains.

Ah, that explains it.

Though it seems I'm coming in 10+ degrees off...

NVM, thanks :)

It could well be 10, I'm only going from memory, which is hazy at best.  ;)
