Hi,
Anyone had a problem where their aircraft starts off running down the runway as soon as a flight is loaded, with autopilot engaged and autothrottle on.
Quite a few times ive gone out the room to come back and find myself in the middle of a forrest or town. lol
any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks

Check out your default flight. If it was saved with the ap and at on, then this is applied to any new flight you create.

and if you close down FSX in mid-flight (Control+C) with the throttle in cruise position, then that's where it will be on restart regardless of the aircraft. It needs a quick forward and back on the throttle to cancel this.
It can be a bit stressful as your heavy jet ploughs into the terminal in front!
Always try and save a flight with the park brake on, it helps overcome these nerve-wracking experiences.

It happens every single flight but I am ready to subito activate the parking brakes and then F1 to idle throttles.
This happens to me even if the autopilot is not engaged or even if the authrottle is not set. Anyway it is not a big issue. Passengers are also used to run a bit in order to catch flights :D

Thanks guys, im not alone then. lol
I've started up a new flight, quickly stopped then engine and put parking brake on, saved the flight and checked save as default.
Restarted FSX, no more running away ;)
Cheers

What are you doing with Auto pilot engaged with Autothrust?
This is probably where your problem lies, in autothrust what settings have you selected?
I usually leave autothrust well alone untill airborne and just use manual thrust.
Although if your setting takeoff thrust and letting the Toga switched set the correct T/O thrust then you should select manual thrust first.
Autothrust is usually set at target airspeed on FSX defaults, so your engines will spool to reach the desired airspeed, and explains why your aircraft commences the take off roll at any speed.
During T/O you should be setting N1 thrust rather than target air speed, but this does depend on the aircraft your flying.

I dont have autothrottle set at takeoff, i set that manually when airborne.
The problems which i was having was why is it on at startup?? it shouldnt be, which has been anwered. thanks
For some reason, either by fsx crashing or by me making a default flight with it accidently on, therfor every first flight had it switched on no matter which aircraft i selected.
