AKA Interface Library Finished, Main Programming Beginning

Hey guys,

It's another thread, I know, but this is both an announcement, and a bit of an alert for the beta testers to get ready, because they'll be getting something in a few weeks.

How cool is that?

Looks good.

So will the FSWC be accessible in-game then? So for screenshots you can line up then configure the reflections.

you use to be able to fly around a bit, then minimize your flight change settings, delete some files and go back to your sim and it would change the reflections etc etc (i think that was the method) im not sure if ashton being the boy genious he is has come up with another way to change stuff inflight but it is possible :P

Yeah, you can line up a good looking shot, and change the water shader ingame.  There are actually two ways this is done:

1)  If you play the game in full-screen, you're all set.  Just Alt+Tab to FSWC, change settings, then Alt+Tab back, and it's ready.

2)  If you run in windowed mode, you have to resize the Flight Simulator X window to force the graphics object to rebuild, also forcing it to recompile the shader.

That's how that will work ;).

Hey guys,

This update is continuing on from, basically the FSW thread, so if you feel a bit lost, just check the other FSW thread to find out where exactly you're at ;).

Alright, why am I posting a screenshot of a desktop shortcut to FSWC?

You know, I suppose this thread deserves a proper screenshot of FSWC, since the one up top looks rather bland, and boring.

So, I present to you, FSWC as it stands:

That image is linked from our website, full permission, etc. etc., so please don't make me upload it to SimV for the sake of rules...

Sexy, eh 8-)?

OK our website now has a news scroller! 8-)

www.fswaterconfigurator.com

I will post all the latest news about FSWC's progress in the scroller.

Enjoy ;)

Paul

Seriously guys, it's such a small thing, but that news scroller is really, really, really cool.

Alright, another update, back to the profile system.

If you've used Microsoft Word, or any Microsoft application for that matter, if you haven't saved settings, it will ask you would like to.

Well, I've just made the realization that I should do that too.  So now, you are prompted with an annoying question message asking if you'd like to save the profile whenever you:
1)  Apply settings without having saved them beforehand.
2)  Close the application without having saved settings beforehand.
3)  Switch to a new profile, huh wuh?

...

Right, uh, give me time to work on #3.  I just made another realization, that perhaps #3 will be a little bit more difficult than I had previously imagined.  I'll get around it.  I hope.  I'm sure I will.  I think.

Seriously, don't worry...

...too much anyway...

Hey guys,

Me once again.  Like there'll ever be anyone else posting here :P.

Anyway, if you're reading this for the first time, or you've only just found out about FS Water Configurator, and you haven't seen any screenshots of it in action, here's a thread over at FSW that Paul just posted:

Link

Shows a couple of our presets, not specifically mission-related, but just general ones that can cover a wide variety of situations ;).
