How to be straight on runway not using ILS (VOR)

Okay well ive flown many, many, many flights using ILS. I know everything (well mostly for the simulator) but how to I land using VOR or how do I fly using it also instead of IFR.

Any help would be appriated, is there a way to be straight on the runway with out using ILS?

Thanks,
;)

ILS doesn't equal AP.

You can fly it manually.

It's basically knowing where the runway is, and where you are in relation to it.

When trying to line up, the runway needs to be perfectly horizontal on the screen (which means no rugged edges on the sides).

For example... If you're landing on runway 13, set up your approach so that your course toward the airport is  130 .. and so on.

VORs have nothing to do with lining up to the runway, unless they're at the field. And even then, they just give you a best guess (i.e. if landing on 27 and there's a VOR at the field.. track inbound to the VOR on the 090 radial).

Okay well if I wanna do a flight flying to Princess Juliana INTL, Ill have to land it manually just like the Paradise Landing mission?

Yesterday I managed to safely land in an airport on top of Argentina I think to remember it was called something like Quica @ 12000 feet.

When approaching during the dusk I also discovered there was no tower but manually and carefully I landed the bi propeller, Beach... I think it's called, with lot of effort cause it is very sensible and my mouse control is tricky anyway I did it and after landed I saw the sun sinking behind mountains......wonderful, wonderful !

Yup, no ILS there.

I suggest however, unless necessary, don't use the AP. Landing manually is a lot more fun, and a lot more challenging.

alright just as a sort of addon here, flying IFR is fun, but for me, once the controller lines me up on the approach path, i switch off the autopilot and manually land. just yesterday i flew a 738 into Heathrow and managed to land center line. its a lot of fun seeing how well larger airliners respond to the controls. but i also do this because im not quite sure how to use the AP for ILS  :D i just know basically to tune the NAV1 radio to the frequency, but what do i set the autopilot to?
