After your nose gear touches down, press and hold the F2 key on the keyboard until you hit 60 KIAS, then press F1 to idle the engines and come to a stop using just the brakes

The only commercial aircraft that I am aware of that has the ability to reverse engins in flight were the early DC-8's.  All the rest that I am aware of have lockouts that prevent the deployment of the reversers in flight.  Turboprops have the same type arrangement, I believe.

Another interesting aircraft that can use reverse thrust in flight: NASA uses a modified Gulfstream II to train for shuttle landings. Among other things, reverse thrust in flight is used to match the descent profile of the shuttle.

The C-17 can also use 'em.

The C-17 is wicked. It can reverse up a 10-15 degree slope or something.

I saw one land at an airshow, using full reverse... practically stopped before it was down :P

There are some turboprops that can use reverse in flight as well, such as the PC-6 and DHC-6.  There are videos of them going straight down racing skydivers.

As for flight sim, it does not allow jets to use reverse thrust in flight, at least not from what I've seen.  Some turboprops can though.

I used to assign a key to decrease throttle. That alows you to go to idle then reverse the engine. It almost had to be done for the C-130 model I used to use in FS9

So there is no way to force/over ride the motors into idle while flying like the C-17 & C-130 can do?

The C-130 possibly, depends on the model.  I don't know of any type of jet that can reverse in flight in flight sim.  There is sometype of lockout in flight sim.

You know a way around it yet??? Come on you every one is depending on it.
