Separating voice output from regular sound output?

This is really annoying me... I'm saying "please repeat" way too many times online, so I'd really like a solution as to separate the regular sound (engine and everything) from the voice output from other players.
I'd like the regular sound through the speakers in my laptop, and the voice output from other players in my headset.
Only thing I can manage is all sound in one place...
Anyone got a solution?

Go to "Settings" and then "Sound" if you have two different sound devices, you can assign one to voice and the other to all other sound. If you don't have two dfferent sound devices, I don't think it will work. I use two different sound cards and assign one to voice and the other to all other sound, it works out really nicely.

I'm pretty sure I got two sound cards... I got my headset and the built-in speakers... Iono...
I think I can get all sound in either place, but I wanna separate it.

You'll know if you have two sound devices in the sound settings. As I mentioned in my original post, open FSX, under settings click on sound. There is a drop down menu where you can assign the sound devices. If there's more than one sound device listed in the drop down, you're golden. Just assign one device to voice and the other device to the other sounds.

I can assign my own voice to one device, but I want my own voice, and that of all the other players in that device.

"Voice" in the menu refers to all voices: your's, the other pilot's and ATC.

Damn... Guess I haven't got two sound cards then... At least not when using USB, which my headset is...

I know that USB headsets will work. In fact it was ACES who first mentioned this cool feature...
I think that the virtual driver will only be available in the list if the headset is connected though...

Even when it's connected, all I can do is click a 'Configure' feature on the screen...

Weird, it suddenly worked now!
I got Acceleration this weekend, so SP2 must've done the trick
