Multicore patch for W/XP

Hi all,
I've read on this forum that there is an XP patch for multicore PC'S, that NickN suggests to install.
By reading microsoft release notes, it seems that this patch fixes the (possible) degraded performance of a multicore PC when waking up after an hibernate, or standby state etc.

First of all.. all you had to do was uninstall the update from add and remove programs

and I have never heard of anyone seeing degraded performance installing it

Ghost can be a blessing or a nightmare... it can save you time but it can also install the same-old-chit you had before and from your description and other posts about problems, I would say a clean install at some point may not be a bad idea

I think you may have taken what I said the wrong way

You asked if anyone had seen degraded performance and made mention that after applying the patch you saw stutters, and then reverting using a ghost image fixed it. I responded to that with a
