I downloaded Alphasim's SR-71 from
http://www.simviation.com/fsxmilitary24.htm,
but I only can get the plane to mach 1.45 whilst at 45,000 feet.
This is the SR-71 I've downloaded.
Even at 25,000 feet i'm still only going 1.6 mach.
Afterburner doesn't change my speed.

Assuming that you want an FSX plane, download the SR71 on page 17 of the FSX Military section on this site and give that a try.

I would like to add that I have emailed Bob Chicilo a couple of times today regarding the FSX SR71 on Page 24 of the FSX Military section on this site and that plane is not Bob's, someone is using his name.
The last update that Bob did for this plane for FSX is on Page 17 of the FSX Military section on this site.

Woah buddy... your display picture is roughly 4mb... the limit is 10kb....
Just a heads up. It also needs to be uploaded to SimV using the 'Upload Images' button just below the Simviation Forums banner at the top of the page.

You have to use the flap lever to control the intake cones at high altitudes

I am a tad confused by the use of the shock cones. It says to retract them for takeoff so then for landing do you extend them back out?
Do you use a setting of 8 or 20 degrees for takeoff and landing and the 30 degree setting is only for Mach 3 flight at high altitude (50,000'+)?

Easy enough. Avatar images are automatically resized. This is the file it's linked to.
