Check your "realism" setting. Start low, and also make sure your stick is calibrated.

I have used an x52 for almost 2 years and have never had any issues with helis. All functions on the stick work properly and other than a touchy rudder ( easily fixed by setting sensitivities and dead zones) I would not go back to anything else.

I highly recommend Alphasim's helicopters. Quite easy to learn on, especially their Pavelow (Pavelows don't really hover actually, they move forward at 1-2 knots..like the Hind). ;)

There's a Bell 430 in the FSX heli section on this site.

I started off flying the R-22, then moved up to the Bell 204. I used to teach people to fly choppers in FSX using multiplayer, but do to the lack of interest I stopped.

It is all a matter of preference. I personally only increased the dead zone on the rudder axis in the saitek control panel and decreased the rudder sensitivity to about half its normal value in the fsx control options.

Okay well I tried the defualt bell on fsx and the takeoff was bad ;D I couldent get very high in the air but once I did, I was just crusing around and the helicopter was going slower than a turtle so I tried to land it but I failed.
