Max number of aircraft? New downloads wont show

Was wondering if there was a max number of aircraft you can load into FSX? Reason I ask is I do have quite a few already, and have tried loading 2 more. Neither one will show up in my aircraft list. I dont see anything different between these files, and some that are already there. One of them is a FS9 model, but I already have several FS9 models that work just fine. Trying to get the Posky Airbus A330, and the Quality Wings 757, but neither will show up. Any ideas?

Not counting helicopters, I got over 300.  I'm a compulsive downloader, what can I say. ::)

The most common reason for FS9 aircraft not appearing on the FSX selection menu is that the panels are aliased to the FS9 default B737_400 which is not included in FSX. Look in the Panel folder for a file named Panel.cfg. Open it in Notepad & change this:

[fltsim]
alias=B737_400\panel

to this;

[fltsim]
alias=B737_800\panel

You might have to do the same with Sound.cfg.

For the Airbus this might be better;

[fltsim]
alias=Airbus_A321\panel

Thanks! That makes perfect sense now that you brought it up. I will give that a go tonight! As for the sounds, I usually download the correct engine soundpack for my commercial jets anyways.

Not quite:

googol: 10^100, or 1 followed by 100 zeros

googolplex: 10^10^100, or 10^googol, or 1 followed by a googol zeros

"Words of wisdom are spoken by children at least as often as by scientists. The name 'googol' was invented by a child (Dr Kasner's nine-year-old nephew) who was asked to think up a name for a very big number, namely, 1 with a hundred zeros after it. He was very certain that this number was not infinite, and therefore equally certain that it had to have a name. At the same time that he suggested 'googol' he gave a name for a still larger number: 'Googolplex'. A googolplex is much larger than a googol, but is still finite, as the inventor of the name was quick to point out. It was first suggested that a googolplex should be 1, followed by writing zeros until you got tired. This is a description of what would happen if one actually tried to write a googolplex, but different people get tired at different times and it would never do to have Carnera a better mathematician than Dr Einstein, simply because he had more endurance. The googolplex then, is a specific finite number, with so many zeros after the 1 that the number of zeros is a googol.

A googolplex is much bigger than a googol, much bigger even than a googol times a googol. A googol times a googol would be 1 with 200 zeros, whereas a googolplex is 1 with a googol of zeros.

You will get some idea of the size of this very large but finite number from the fact that there would not be enough room to write it, if you went to the farthest star, touring all the nebulae and putting down zeros every inch of the way."

-- Kasner and Newman. Mathematics and the Imagination. 1940

A further bit of trivia: Google.com was named deliberately with a variation on the spelling of "googol". The only reason why the founders changed the spelling was that googol.com was already taken!

I have well over 400 planes and still counting. I use the ADDITPRO for FSX to add new planes...it works great!! It's alot easier than unzipping and moving files, and it gives you choices to make sure you have pictures to choose from.
