Hi, I have one of the newest iMacs (chrome/black) and have BootCamp running on it. When I play FSX on BootCamp, I want to voice chat when I go online. Is there a way I can use my Macs built-in microphone? :-? or do I need to buy a headset? :-? If I can use the internal mic, how? :-? If I can't use the internal mic, what is a cheap headset for voicechat that I can get in Canada? :-?

I'm running it on a Macbook Pro, running Vista.

Try going to the sound settings in the game, and select the built-in microphone.

How do you do that? I have tried going to Windows control panel and sound and audio settings and it could not pick up the internal mic.

Sounds like a driver problem then.

Are you sure you installed the drivers when installing Windows?

If you haven't, insert the first Mac OSX install disc that came with your Mac, and run the setup.

It'll install all necessary drivers (though I did need a third-party driver for my video card).

Then go to the Unit Managemant (or something like that), if it's not there, choose Action -> Scan For Hardware Changes.

If it still doesn't pick up, you can search Google for a driver for your built-in mic.

If not, I suggest the Logitech 350 Premium headset.

It's a bit expensive, but it's well worth the money.

Thank you, I will look into the proper drivers and a headset.

Same happened on my Macbook Pro.
I just selected the built in mic as default into through the OS X system prefs. Then switched to windows, did the same, and then in the game. Works fine!

Have fun playing, I hear FSX blazes on the new 3.06 ghz iMacs!

First of all - it is not a brand spankin new comp, it was like a 2.6 ghz. either way, it is an awesome game on an awesome and fast computer. Also, I have tried to default it in windows, mind you I havent in Mac (i would think it is factory default). I will try double checking. If that wors, maybe I can do it in windows. But if it is already default in mac, it won't work. Any other solutions?
