I dont really know what the proper keywords are to search with, so I will just ask it.

Which aircraft (or other downloads) will do a read off of your altitude on finals... like where it says '100, 90, 80, 70' and so on.

Cheers

I had a helicopter that did that, but I haven't been able to find it.  I don't even remember if it was FS9 or FSX. I'll keep looking...

Ah right, thanks.

From Googling it, Project Magneta (with FSUIPC/ WideFS) seems to be the best method of it.

I will have a check for any others that exist.

cheers

edit: well the ones so far require payware aircraft or tools. Any freeware I have missed?

...still looking for that chopper.

I'm fairly sure it's from FS9, since I remember hearing that when I was setting up to fly under some bridges at Shreveport.  The FSX bridges are just a teesy bit low in FSX.  Not that the ones in FS9 are much higher...

The only thing I've found so far in FS9 that has an altitude "Call Out" is one of the Space 1999 Eagles (The one with 4 or 5 variations).  You have to turn it on by pressing a "button" on the panel, it's off by default.  But I know that's not where I heard the altitude call out because that version of the Eagel flies like a helecopter, only sluggish. (From the Erath to the moon in *that* thing is a pipe-dream.  But I digress...)

If you are flying a commercial airline, look for a "Call Out" button.  If the aircraft has a manual, double check it, a "Call-out" might be in there somewhere.

I'll keep looking, however. :P

You can easily add the default FSX GWPS system to any aircraft.cfg file:

[GPWS]
max_warning_height = 1000
sink_rate_fpm = -1500
excessive_sink_rate_fpm = -2000
climbout_sink_rate_fpm = -100
flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -100

Fr.Bill...

I have the sounds for GPWS- the entire 100,90,80 etc but could I add that into the cfg too?

I dont really mess around with it myself so I dont exactly know what the individual sections do.

Which is the bit linking it to the sound? Is the file called 'max_warning_height' or something for the first one?

flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -100

Some of my aircraft will give those warnings, but I checked and did not see a [GPWS] section in the .cfg.  How does that happen? (same question in the "two small problems" thread)

FSCopilot 1.6 will do the job well, and its freeware.

okay FSPilot is causing FSX to become too unstable to open. Gets to the opening 'load' splash screen before the actual selection screen bit starts and crashes.
