CANT SEE AUTOGEN THROUGH PROP!!!

I have looks through these forums to see if anyone else has posted anything like this but the search takes me to a "cannot find page" but I am certain someone must have posted something like this before so if so then link me to it but gettiing back to the point:-
I have got several prop aircraft which are not compatable with fsx although everything works except you are unable to see autogen through the proppellers... payware and freeware I have heard on multiplayer that it is possible to change this so it works with fsx and you can see all autogen through the prop etc.

Can anyone who knows how to do this please post a reply to this so I can make my propellers have realistic looks about them  (if there is any programs required to do this then please state which one and where from even if payware)

Thanks

There's aircrafts that are incompatible with SP2,doesn't matter DX9 or DX10... :-/ Most of them needs to be remaked to be compatible with Sp2 :-/

Hi, would you mind posting a screenshot to show us please ?
It seems to me that your prop is not transparent anymore.
What you need to do is to modify the prop texture to make it transparent. You can use a tool nammed DXTBMP for this.

If you read the FAQ, you will find a link to a "back cockpit" issue. The problem is the same than your prop, just apply the same instructions.

Heres a picture of what it looks like. see the building is see through straight to the terrain if you look into the prop

I do still get a shade of it turning when the engin is on like you do with any props (meant to happen)

Why not try it for yourself? http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm

Ouch ! No luck, this is a modelling issue, not a texture issue.
DXTBMP won't help. I think there's nothing that you can do for this problem :/

Daube is probably right but you could try deleting the prop texture. If it doesn't work there's no harm done.

Hagar, deleting the prop texture won't help.
As far as I have understood, in this precise case, the issue comes from the model itself, more precisely from the definition of the "material" (in the modelling tool) of the prop disk.

The same issue happens for example in the Argosy (if I remember well). A part of the virtual cockpit is set to transparent, so transparent that it allows me to to see through everything that is behind it. Normally, this part should have been transparent, but to show the remaining part of the cockpit behind, not the external world :/

OK Daube, I bow to your superior knowledge. It was just a suggestion as I don't have FSX & have no way of checking this for myself.

Hmm... this part of your sentence makes me think that you took my last reply as an aggressive answer. Sorry about that, I was not intending to offend or anything :/

Sorry if you misunderstood my comments. (One has to be so careful what one says around here these days. ::))
I was telling the truth. You have far more experience than me with modelling & FSX. Fact. ;)
