Tried reducing the settings? I sometimes have this on my Notebook when trying to max out the settings for screenshots etc. ...

Like Meck said, reduce your settings. My main problem with OOM errors is when I have my traffic set to high. I reduce my traffic volume and my OOM problems go away.

But before spending any money, try first to increase the size of your virtual memory, set it to a fix, high size, like 4096 Mb or more.
(I just hope this setting is still available in Vista, in any case this solvd my issue in XP)

Nick,
I was confirming my edit done a while back, and noticed the following in the boot.ini....
...XP Home Edition"/noexecute=optin/fastdetect/3GB/Userva=2560
Is the "noexecute=optin" supposed to be in it?
I'm using Home edition of XP....
Thanks in advance!

Yes.. that is part of the DEP system
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms791539.aspxThe /noexecute parameter is effective only on 32-bit processes. It enables software-enforced DEP and, if the processor supports DEP, it also enables hardware-enforced DEP.
On 64-bit processes, DEP is enabled by default and cannot be disabled (equivalent to /noexecute=alwayson). For these processes, the /noexecute parameter is ignored. On a 64-bit operating system, the /noexecute parameter affects only 32-bit processes running on the system.

Why the magic number of "2560"? If you have XP Home and 4 gig of memory then why not "2944" or "3200" or "3840" or "3968" or any multiple of 64?

Rod

Thank you Nick!
It's amazing how the sim, (well actually you and others), has educated me on computers! ;)
I'm trying to use the "search" function as much as I can to find answers, but I'd rather be flyin! ;D

Thanks for the response Nick, now I have other questions.
I have read that as far as PM XP Home will only use 3 gig, is that true?
If it is true then why do they have MB's that allow you to add 4 gig?
I have 4 gig on my MD and under the General Tab in System Properties is shows the 4 gig. Did I waste my money on the 4th gig of memory? Is is just sitting there doing nothing?
Regards,
Rod
