This plane works great for me. Are you sure you have SP2 installed on your FSX ?

Do you need SP2 for the OV-10A to display properly?

Open the texture.cfg file in wordpad.exe or notepad.exe and change the fallback.3 entry as shown below. There are some files in the \Texture folder of FSX that may be required, and FSX can't load 'em if you don't tell it where they are... ;)

Code: Select all
[fltsim]

fallback.1=..\texture.common
fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Texture

But are you using the FS9 version of the plane, or the newest FSX SP2 version ?

It seems to me that Tim has written in the readme that the plane was compiled with the FSX-SP2 sdk.

One thing that change from SP1 to SP2 is the transparency. In SP1, a texture with a black alpha channel is opaque, but in SP2 the same texture is transparent. You have to invert the Alpha Channel (= make it white) for the texture to be opaque again.

So for the author of this thread, *perhaps* you need to do the contrary...

But an easier solution would be to simply use the FS9 version of the plane, I would say.

you might want to provide 1024 textures in an alternate download for people with vidmem challenged graphics cards.

Alejandro - you can design to the lowest common denominator, but the sad fact is that some people will always have some problem, if only because of the differences between your hardware setup and theirs.  You can, as Phil suggests, provide a different set of textures, but there will always be complaints.

Keep up your good work.
