I tried to land in two airports in Guatemala but there was trees on the runways and could not land. Has anybody noticied this? I am away from my PC so cannot naew the two airports.

Are the trees on the runway or just where the runway ends? I haven't seen trees on the runway but e.g. Courchevel (default) is hardly landable because of a large tree at the westend of the runway...

Yes that does happen on a few, its a minor bug, but its more fun when you are landing on a short dirt runway and there is a treee directly in your flight path. Get Airport design editor ( ADE) or FSX planner and find the offending BGL and create an exclusion zone where the trees are and then recompile it and see if that fixes it. You will need to install the FSX SDK to use then though.

There are two fixes agexcl_3x and agexcl_5 by a Jim Keir from the UK. I got them from AVSIM.
The first provides a 3 mile clearance, the second 5 miles around all airfields so you are able to land free of trees on the approach path.
I use the 3 miles to keep a sense of realism, as some bush strips are dangerous in reality because of trees. 3 miles may seem a big distance, but FS has overlarge reservations for strips anyway.

Thanks everybody for the replies. The trees are on the runway. I downloaded the file from AVSIM and see whether it helps.

However trees ON the runway is a texture problem and the download won't help.
Others are better qualified to help you on the trees on the runway problem, because it almost certainly means that something is layered incorrectly and it is bleeding through. The agexcl files won't help you there. They help with boundary issues only.

You will need to create an exclude rectangle to remove those trees
that are on the runway.
For FSX, I believe you need an exclude created with the shp2vec
tools as opposed to the excludes created with bglcomp as in FS9.
I think SBuilderX and perhaps FSX_KML will do the job.

Someone needs to mow more often, keeps those pesky trees from getting so big.

Just run 'em over. So a little aluminum gets bent. Maybe a little fuel spills and there's a little fire. Keeps things interesting...

Ok, its fine to neglect to maintain the runway long enough so that weeds are growing out of the cracks, but cracks big enough for trees to grow out of? Thats insane!

There is a runway just outside Queenstown in Tasmania, has a nice sloping runway, actually more like a dip, but it isnt used often and has some small shrubs growing on the runway around 40ft from eastern end. I noticed they had a new Sock up the otherday so wonder if its still used. Will grab photo next time i pass that way.
